Dr. Nielsen is educated and trained as a Homoeopathic Physician. She holds a Diploma in Homoeopathic Medicine, Surgery and Midwifery from the Council of Homoeopathic Medicine, West Bengal, India and was a Postgraduate Research Student at the National Research Institute of Homoeopathy in Calcutta. Dr. Nielsen is a Gold Medallist in Homoeopathic Philosophy.
She is a faculty member and president of Dr. Nielsen’s Homoeopathic Medical Education and Research Centre Inc., Winnipeg, Canada; with over twenty years of experience in the field of Homoeopathic treatment and teaching.

While in India, Dr. Nielsen established several free Homoeopathic clinics in association with the Christian Social Service, the Church of North India and the Lions Club. In recognition of her work, the Christian Social Service established Nielsen's Homoeopathic Movement for the Poor. She held the post of Advisor-in-Chief (Medical & Health) for four years with numerous community programs.

In 1994 Dr. Nielsen established the first Homoeopathic Clinic in Winnipeg, where she is currently practicing. In addition to her busy practice she travels to numerous communities holding satellite clinics, teaching and promoting the benefits of Homoeopathy.

It is in collaboration with other Canadian colleges such as The Homeopathic College of Canada and Centre de Techniques Homeopathique. It brings a unique international basis to its education through its visiting professorship and its opportunity of a postgraduate internship at Fr. Muller's Medical College and Homoeopathic Hospital in Mangalore, South India. Her graduates are among the best trained in Canada.

Dr. Nielsen is one of the pioneers in Homoeopathy in Canada. She has been instrumental in revitalizing this once well-respected form of medicine into a flourishing practice. She has organized the grass roots community in lobbying the government for greater recognition and to encourage funding for broader public access to Homoeopathic services. Dr. Nielsen herself has spent countless hours lobbying politicians and has met on numerous occasions with the provincial and federal health ministers. She has sat on committees to address such pressing issues as licensing, student financial assistance legislation, and formation of a professional association and organization of a consumer group.

Dr. Nielsen has attended several meetings of the Natural Health Products Directorate, created by Health Canada, for the purpose of researching and establishing standards for alternative medicine, including Homoeopathy, in Canada.

Dr. Nielsen has selflessly devoted her life to the healing of people and is a genuinely compassionate person who deeply believes in the regeneration of the human body, mind and spirit. Her work and life are a testament to her belief.
